Many dog owners may purchase a gate that works fine for their current dog. However should they add a new canine household member it’s possible that their requirements for a dog gate could change, especially if the new dog is larger or a breed that tends to jump. If this is the case there are a varied assortment or gate extensions available for different models of gates.
The extensions mostly come in two different sizes which increases the likelihood that there will be an extension available for your particular choice of gate. Extensions are available for many of the gates and for all types of material, aluminum, steel and wood. The extension shown in the image is a twelve and one-half inch extension for the Duragate model of gate, however there are plenty of other models and styles of dog gates that do have extensions available.
If you find that your dog has found a way to get over the fence and into mischief or worse inside the home or outdoors, then it is imperative that something be done to remedy this situation. Gate extensions are the most economical and aesthetically pleasing option as opposed to rigging up some ugly looking mess that your dog will probably figure out how to escape from anyway. Some dogs are escape artists and it is great to have such a healthy and physically able dog his safety still comes first and hopefully a different outlet for his physical abilities can be found such as dog agility.
